Welcome Corps Group Needs YOU!

Tom Clowes, and a group of interested friends, are forming a “Welcome Corps” group to sponsor the immigration of Rohingya refugee family. Tom knows this family well from his international network with the Crossing Borders Music project. The family is currently in the Kutupalong Refugee Camp in Bangladesh and cannot return to their homeland in Myanmar. 

The Welcome Corps process provides an opportunity for U.S. citizens to directly sponsor and assist with the immigration of refugees. It is a major commitment of time and resources and requires both logistical and financial support. The first step is to form a group, collect sufficient funds to cover initial costs, and sort out the bureaucratic hurtles necessary for their legal entry into the U.S.

Can you help? The group is not officially a 2U project but most of the people involved are 2U members. If you would like to be part of the group, or a “friend” of the group, or can donate to the effort, please let Tom know. And if you just want to be included on the related email list, Tom can do that too!
