Letter from the Board 4/1/2025
Dear 2U Friends,
Happy Spring! We have passed the spring equinox and officially entered spring in Chicago. Regardless of whether it snows again (and history says we do see a lot of precipitation in April), the forsythia and early magnolias are blooming and the grass is greening up.
Spring always feels energetic and hopeful to me - every day, change is happening. I’m particularly excited about one change at our church. At our congregational meeting on Sunday, March 30, the congregation voted to make housing available for a vulnerable migrant family in the 2U building. If you’d like to read more about the plan for housing that family, I encourage you to read through the informational packet and sample community agreement prepared for that meeting. If you have questions, or would like to help, please reach out to Alicia Obando at aliciaobando@sbcglobal.net, who is coordinating the effort. We’re looking forward to welcoming this family to our building once a family that is a good match for us is found.
Spring is also when we seek new leadership for the upcoming church year. Please take a minute to read through the article from the 2U Nominating committee below, and use the form provided to suggest those that you could contribute to leading our church.
Finally, spring is the time when we make our membership pledges for the coming year. If you have not yet pledged, please put your pledge in today, using this handy form. These pledges help us shape a budget for the coming year and every single one of them is important!
As Chicago’s greenery emerges, I’m looking forward to growing with you all this spring,
