Our 2025-2026 Annual Giving Campaign
Anchored in Love, Rooted in Community: Our 2025-2026 Annual Giving Campaign
Over the past few years, our community at Second Unitarian Church has navigated a time of immense change and growth. We've learned about resilience as we emerged from the pandemic, and we've embraced growth as we continue to renovate our church to be more accessible. This year, we are called to focus on love, anchoring ourselves in the foundation of our faith and community.
The theme for our 2025-2026 Annual Giving Campaign, "Anchored in Love, Rooted in Community," reflects a profound shift in our understanding of faith and generosity. The recent change to Article II of the Unitarian Universalist Association's statement of values, placing love at the center, underscores the importance of this focus. At 2U, we believe that love is not just an abstract ideal, but a powerful force that manifests in our care for one another and our shared commitment to building a better world.
Faith, Finance, and the Beloved Community
Money and spirituality may seem like strange bedfellows, but at 2U, we recognize their deep connection. Responsible stewardship of our resources is an essential act of faith, a way of expressing our love for our community and our commitment to our shared values.
As Mark W. Ewert writes in "The Generosity Path," generosity is not just about giving money; it's about cultivating a spirit of abundance and sharing our gifts freely. Every dollar we give, every act of service we offer, is an expression of our faith and a contribution to the building of our Beloved Community.
Building Community Together
This year's campaign is not just about raising money; it's about deepening our connections and strengthening the bonds that hold us together. We invite you to join us in this journey of generosity and community building in several ways:
Attend the "Anchored in Love, Rooted in Community" Kickoff Event: Join us on Sunday, February 9th, 2025, following the service, for a time of connection, inspiration, and learning about our pledge goals for the 2025-2026 campaign.
Participate in a Heart-to-Heart Circle: These intimate gatherings offer a space for members and friends to engage in meaningful conversations with the minister, treasurer, and/or chair of the finance committee about faith, finance, and generosity.
Our Shared Vision
We believe that our congregation is a beacon of hope and a source of strength for our members and the wider community. By coming together and sharing our resources, we can continue to build a community where all feel welcome, supported, and empowered to live their values.
We invite you to join us on this journey of faith, generosity, and community building. Together, we can create a world where love, justice, and compassion flourish.
With Deepest Gratitude,
2025-2026 Annual Giving Team
