Money Matters 5/15/2024
In our beloved 2U community, we face financial challenges that call for both realism and hope. While April's financial results present a significant shortfall, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our shared values and mission and are encouraged by the progress we've made year-to-date.
It's important to acknowledge that our year-to-date operating income is up by 15%, driven by lower-than-expected expenses and a 4% increase in total revenue. We are particularly heartened to see that pledges year-to-date are above budgeted, demonstrating the continued generosity and commitment of our members.
We acknowledge the gap between our budgeted and actual revenue for April, understanding that this may be due to various factors. Together, we will explore these causes with transparency and open communication, embracing the opportunity for growth and resilience.
Our financial well-being is intertwined with the vibrancy of our community. We call upon each member to consider their role in supporting our shared ministry, whether through increased giving, volunteering their time, or offering their unique talents.
We are a community that thrives on hope, and we believe that through collaboration and shared commitment, we can overcome these challenges. Let us celebrate our successes so far this year, and continue to work together, building a stronger and more sustainable future for our beloved 2U community.
With gratitude,
—2U Finance Committee
