Nominating Committee Announcement

The Nominating Committee Seeks 2U Leaders for 2025-2026

Every year, 2U’s Nominating Committee meets to identify and nominate candidates for 2U’s Board of Directors (Trustees), who oversee business, property, assets, and affairs of the Church, as well as other elected positions.  The Committee is now accepting nominations for the following positions and invites you to nominate candidates through April 15. Click here to nominate.

Chair Elect: The Chair Elect serves a one-year term as part of a three-year progression. After the first year, the Chair Elect will progress to Chair in their second year and then to Past Chair in their third year. Currently, Greg Potts is the Chair Elect.

Secretary: This position serves a two-year term. The Secretary keeps the minutes of all meetings  of the Church and of the Board of Trustees; gives all notices required by statute, bylaw  or resolution; supports official church record keeping; sits on the church’s personnel committee, and performs duties incident to the office of secretary of a corporation.  Currently, Carla Tebbe is the Secretary.

Council Chair: This position serves a two-year term. The Chair of the Church Council organizes and presides over meetings of the Church Council; represents the Church Council to  the Board of Trustees; and performs other duties assigned by the Board. Currently, Barb Michael is the Council Chair.

Endowment Committee: This position serves a three-year term. The Endowment Committee, consisting of three members, serves as the custodian of the Church's non-operating, non-capital Endowment fund. This fund supports the religious mission and work of the congregation in accordance with the Board's Investment Policy. The committee receives and manages gifts, including equities, trusts, bequests, annuities, and other gift types. Due to the very small size of the endowment, the committee has met infrequently in the past.

Nominating Committee: (one full 3-year and one partial 2-year): These positions serve a three-year term. The Nominating Committee is responsible for identifying candidates for leadership positions, recruiting them to serve and communicating with the congregation.

Some basics:
