Zen Shiatsu Sessions by Abigail Cline

Over the next couple months, Abigail Cline will be offering one-hour Zen Shiatsu sessions to the 2U community. It is recommended to schedule three weekly sessions at a time to receive the best trajectory of benefits (though most people feel a big difference after just one session).

Sessions will take place in the church library on Friday evenings (if you are interested but this time doesn’t work for you, please reach out and we can try to arrange something). To book appointments, click here for available slots. If slots fill up and Abigail is available, more times will be added.

After booking, you’ll be directed to our church’s Giving page. These sessions will be on a sliding scale of $0 to $150 which will be donated entirely to 2U. Bodywork is an important healing modality that should be accessible to all. Please donate whatever is comfortable for you.

What is Zen Shiatsu?

Zen Shiatsu is a fully-clothed hands-on treatment that deeply relaxes the nervous system to relieve muscle aches and pains (like massage), relieve internal organ issues (like acupuncture), and stretches the body’s range of motion (like yoga). This holistic approach makes shiatsu effective for treating pain and injury as well as digestive issues, sleep challenges, immune system issues, chronic illness, and emotional health.

The importance of getting treatments regularly is that shiatsu “interrupts” the body’s habits. For example, if somebody has shoulder pain and restriction, shiatsu can relax the nervous system enough to remind the body what it feels like to move with ease. By returning weekly rather than a few times a year, you consistently “remind” the body what it’s capable of and reset the shoulder’s default.

Abigail will be available during coffee hour at services or by email to answer any questions you may have.

Testimonials:

“Abigail really tunes in and creates a relaxed atmosphere that left me feeling held and supported. Pressure was just right and I had chills rushing to my head most of the time. She felt very connected to the treatment. She checked in at exactly the right times as well. The treatment left me feeling ‘filled in’ where I have been feeling drained and depleted of my own energy…left me feeling more hopeful overall. All the tightness in my body feels looser all over!” - PB

“Abigail really hit some key areas today that brought about emotional responses I was not aware of. Today’s session was notable on the stretching of the feet, pressure points down my outside thigh from my hip replacement - felt really good.” - MH

“Very nice pressure the entire time. She shifted pressure on certain areas but it was always the perfect amount. Felt very intuitive. Really enjoyed the work done on my calves. Felt a big release. Great treatment!” - IP

“Was lots of fun!” - MT
