Letter from the Board 8/1/2024
Dear 2U Community,
How is it August already? Summer can feel both fast and slow all at once. Many of us have been taking vacations; I was lucky enough to be able to travel to reconnect with my family and the mountains I grew up with in July (feel free to ask me for Mt. Baker stories if we see each other around church). Others have been focusing on local joys—my garden has been somewhat neglected while I’ve been traveling, but maybe yours is thriving? What have you been reconnecting with this summer, and what have you been stepping back from?
These next months will bring many opportunities to reconnect with 2U—through opportunities to travel over the rainbow in a special service and movie night in August, and as the church year kicks off in September. We’re moving through major work on creating a more accessible 2U as our elevator installation continues, thanks to the support all of you provided through our capital campaign. You’ll receive a separate update specifically about this construction and the capital campaign early next week. Additionally, we’re gearing up for our Fall Fest, a joyful celebration of the 2U community that is also a major fundraiser for our work. We are currently looking for folks excited about joining the committee to make our Fall Fest an outstanding evening, and for co-chairs to lead this effort. If you are excited about getting involved, please reach out to Brandon Nicks to find out more or sign up here.
I’m looking forward to hearing all of your summer stories and what you are excited about reconnecting with during Coffee Hours in August!
